Crab Feed 2020 Cancelled

On behalf of the Swiss Sportsman Club of Tacoma (SSCT), we would like to thank you for supporting our 48th annual crab feed. As you are already probably aware, over the last several years, the crab feed has not only become one our clubs’ most enjoyable events, but our largest fund raiser and a staple of our annual financial budget.

Unfortunately, it is with deep regret that we inform you of the untimely cancellation of the 48th Annual Crab Feed. Over the past few weeks, the SSCT board and leadership has been monitoring developments related to COVID-19. With many regions recommending self-quarantine and many institutions strongly advising staff, faculty and students to restrict travel, and after Governor Inslee mandates released this morning, we know it is no longer practical nor ethical to continue with our annual fund raiser at this time.

Please note that the SSCT is committed to refunding the registration of all participants. Due to setup fees and cancellation fees, many of our attendees have expressed a desire to donate a portion of their registration fees in lieu of receiving a refund. We greatly appreciate such generosity and support. If you are interested in donating your registration fee, please inform your ticket salesperson or email swissparkflyer.com.

Please note we are paying close attention to the situation across our region and how this effects our club and future events. Keep in mind that less than two weeks ago, there was only one known COVID-19 coronavirus case. With this, we will continue to closely monitor all data as we thoughtfully plan forward.

We appreciate your consideration and understanding as we work through the refunding of all ticket holders. I would also like to thank the work of the board, our crab chairman Markus Spitzli, all volunteers, ticket sellers, and other members we have relied on for valuable input.

Once again, thank you for your support in helping make this the fun event it is every year and thank you for your consideration of a donation.
